Stefan Hippe

Born 1966; he lived in Nürnberg and studied music in Nürnberg (accordion under Willi Münch and Irene Kauper) and also in Würzburg at the Hochschule für Musik (composition under Bertold Hummel and Heinz Winbeck, conducting under Günther Wich); he received numerous awards for his compositions for example the 1. price for his works for violin quartet at the International Composition Competition of Hitzacker in 1994; 1997 he was awarded for a scholarship by „Cité internationale des Arts“ in Paris; 1998 he received the culture award of the city Nürnberg; 2000 he received the young artist award of Bavaria in Munich; in the same year his opera „A Lady Di es“ (commissionary work for Nürnberg to it’s 950 city anniversary) had it’s premiere in Nürnberg; Stefan Hippe was involved at numerous performances (thereof 45 premieres) for contemporary music as a soloist, ensemble member or conductor; furthermore he gave concerts in Hungary, Poland, Greece, France,Czech Republic, Canada, United States, Russia and Belarus; since 1999 he is music teacher in Nürnberg; since 2009 he is federal conductor for the German Accordion Association;
