The sheet music edition "All Around Louisiana" contains seven arrangements of Zydeco/Cajun music as well as three compositions by Martina Kluge.
This musical style originated in the early 20th century. Depending on which immigrant brought the songs, the respective musical styles were called Zydeco (more commonly performed by Black musicians) and Cajun (more commonly performed by white musicians).
The pieces are usually performed with a band and singer, but here, real accordion solos have been created, specifically tailored to the needs and abilities of accordionists.
Small improvisations and additions round out the original templates to keep things interesting and to transform a simple folk song into a longer performance piece of medium difficulty.
