"ACCORDION IS COOL" Volume 5 by Wolfgang Ruß contains compositions for the standard bass accordion at an intermediate level of difficulty. As in the previous volumes, great emphasis has been placed on musical and stylistic diversity. The left hand is often not used for the typical rhythmic accompaniment with bass and chords, but rather has an independent melodic role. The aim is to further develop melodic playing on the standard bass and the use of root and third bass notes.
The centerpiece of the book is two four-movement suites: "Ballet Suite" and "Space Flight." The concluding "Tumble Rag" is dedicated to our publishing house on its 25th anniversary.
The difficulty level of the pieces is not significantly higher than in Volume 4.
All pieces in the book can be played on a 34-key (72-bass) accordion.
The pieces are written in major and minor keys with up to four accidentals.
The fingerings are designed for the accordion with piano keyboard and standard bass. With minor adjustments, many of the pieces can also be played on the melody bass (M III).
